Level II NDT research Technician, National Institute for Aviation Research (ATLAS)

Steven Lee has worked for the National Institute for Aviation research as the NDT team lead for our ATLAS group since the beginning of 2018. Prior to that from 2008-2017 lee was with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office in Wichita Ks as a deputy. Lee have been the inspector for just about every research program we have had at NIAR Atlas including all of our teardown efforts with aging aircraft studies. Lee recently took the role for the FY2024 on the (KART) Kansas Aviation Research and Technologies that will be IRT Evaluation of Porosity in Composite Laminate Material. His primary areas of inspection include Ultrasonics, Infrared thermography, and laser shearography with the ability to perform other methods of inspection if needed. I have a level II in ultrasonic testing and a level II in infrared thermography with plans to obtain my level III in IRT before this year is over and also in Ultrasonics in early spring.
