Karl Ries serves as Director of Quality Control and Chief Inspector for American Airlines. An FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic with more than 26 years of aviation experience, Ries has led programs in aircraft maintenance, reliability, maintenance control, regulatory compliance and base planning. Ries is passionate about advancing NDT capabilities, inspector development, emerging inspection technologies and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance and aircraft reliability.
